On the day of 27th of January we celebrate another anniversary of KL Auschwitz complex liberation. 70 years already separate us from the moment when soldiers of the Red Army arrived at the area of the camp. They've brought thelong awaited freedom for those, who lost all hope of retrieving it. Freed prisoners and now occupant free Polish society in very short time realized, that liberators brought with them a new slavery, sealed with Yaltan provisions.

It’s now 70 years Since the tragic events that happened on 3rd of December 1944, in Bor-Budy village. On that day, in the Zdrowak family house, were present 4 partisans from AK squad “Sosienki”: Stanisław Furdyna (nr 193), Antoni Wykręt (nr 613), Stanisław Kwiatkowski (nr 12374), and Marian Szayer (nr 17036). They were escapees from KL  Auschwitz. First two managed to flee from the camp in September 1944, and just a month later, in a reckless action, they rescued Marian Szayer.

It is the 72nd anniversary of  first inmates routed to Jawischowitz sub camp. There were 150 of them, Jews deported from France. They were directed to Jawischowitz on August 15, 1942 from Auschwitz. It was one of the Auschwitz sub-camps, organized around a coal mine Brzeszcze – Jawiszowice. They prisoners worked both underground and on the surface. It was the first such case in the history of the concentration camps.

On the day of 2nd of August we celbrated another Sinti and Roma Extermination Memorial Day. Seventy years ago, authorities of the KL Auschwitz – Birkenau conducted an extermination of Gypsy family camp in Brzezinka. On the tragic night, between 2nd and 3rd of august, nearly 3 tousand gypsy prisoners lost their lives, including women and children. Those were the last Gypsy prisoners in Auschwitz.

On the day of 3rd of July Municipal officials from Brzeszcze and the Foundation signed a notary act of transfer of land specified in the Resolution No. XXXIX/395/14 of the day of 24th of April 2014 by the City Council Brzeszczach. The Foundation received in use for 25 years the building school in Bor, which in the years 1942 to 1943 housed the heaviest penal company of women from Auschwitz-Birkenau. In the middle of 1943, there were accomodated women from Frauen Konzetrationslager Birkenau and created heavy commandos carrying out work in the field, forest, deepening ditches and ponds.

Since the liberation of Auschwitz, Auschwitz-Birkenau Museum commemorates the victims of the German Nazi concentration and extermination camp Auschwitz-Birkenau.
